See’s Candy Fund Raiser

Hello All!

The See’s candy fund raiser will begin this weekend.  

This fund raiser helps provide additional monies needed to run the Esperanza Entertainment Unit.  

A packet will be coming home with your student on Friday, October 6th.  

Please encourage your student to participate in this fund raiser.

Important Date:

Early orders deadline- Oct 20th

Final orders deadline- November 3rd

Candy will be delivered-November 15th

Incentives for the students: 

  • 3 Early Bird Prizes – Entry to a drawing for anyone with 10+ orders turned in by October 20
  • Prizes to the 5 Top Sellers who sell over $500 in total
  • Prizes in 3 random drawings – anyone who sells 1 or more can win!
  • Section Winner – for the highest average sales per person

-Total $ Sales divided by # people in the section = Average sales per person (The whole section wins!!)

Parents we need your help as well:

We are looking for donations of gift cards for incentives for the students.  

Gift cards to places like Starbucks, Amazon, In-N-Out, etc.   

In the amounts of $5, $10 and $15.

We also need volunteers to help tabulate final orders and to sort candy when it arrives.

Drop off any acceptable items at the Band Trailer
Beginning of school (6:45/7:45 am) or end of school (2:45 pm)
 
Collect whatever you can from friends, family and neighbors that missed our last donation drive 1-1/2 weeks ago. 
Have them drop them off during the hours listed above or they can give them to you and you can bring them to school with you.
 
We have a parent donating a 1/2 trailer full of clothes. We want to fill up the rest. 
Just toss your goods by the Band Trailer and we’ll make sure the items get in the trailer.

Announcing the EEU Quarter Madness Event Planning Meeting

Tuesday, October 3, 2017 – 6pm7pm – In the EEU Band Room

Quarter Madness is a super fun event scheduled for Feb 2, 2018 at the YLCC – –  but it takes some time (and a small village) to pull it off successfully – so we want to get together and start planning now.  
We really appreciate anyone willing to lend a hand – – so if you are able to help, please join us at this planning meeting!!!

EEU E-Waste & Savers Event

A BIG THANK YOU

To ALL students and Parents that volunteered

Annual EEU E-Waste & Savers Event:  

Saturday September 16th

A big thank you to all students and parents who volunteered their time, cars and supplies to help in yesterday’s fundraiser. 
We truly appreciate all you did.  We should get results in in a couple of weeks. 
We were busy at West Campus and Savers the whole time. I understand we even got other EHS business at Savers 
as another group came in after us and there were people who came early to donate and didn’t want to wait
or come back so EEU got those donations. Also, EHS Dance had a garage sale down the street and donated
all their ewaste items to our event. 
So please, let’s reciprocate by showing up and support other EHS group fundraisers. 
We all work together for better education.

 
AES Recycling is giving us 2 extra weeks to get donations in towards this fundraiser.  
All donations must be taken directly to their business in Fullerton during their business hours. 
Please make sure you identify any donations are for EEU.
 
Acceptable products are listed below. 
We found out yesterday, they don’t take printers. 
That was a new issue we did not know about beforehand. Sorry to all those that collected printers for this e-waste drive. 
I highly recommend setting up an appointment for drop-off just to make sure they 
won’t be closed when you come by due to lunch, late morning, closing early, etc.

EEU Wear 2017-2018

Calling all EEU Supporters!

Show your support at field shows, parades, football games and other EEU events by wearing Esperanza Entertainment Unit logo wear or show shirt.  If you didn’t get a chance to order your Show Shirt or EEU Logo Wear

….Tonight is the last night!

Show Shirts are provided by the Kelly’s.  This year they are grey with the attached logo.  

They are available for purchase for $10.  Cash or Checks made out to Kelly Enterprise.  Mr. & Mrs. Kelly will be located out by the field tonight to take your orders. 

Tonight is the last night these will be available for this year.  

Don’t miss out!

EEU Logo Wear is provided by the EEU Boosters and has our EEU logo on it.  

We will have table set up in the quad tonight with available items on display for ordering.  

Checks may be made out to EEU.  These items are not kept on hand and will be ordered in one large order.  

Fall Orders must be received by Thursday, August 31.  

If you are not able to order in person tonight, you may order through the EEU Website until August 31.  

Orders placed after that may be delayed based on ordering time.

Uniform Fittings

Band Students must wear a white v-neck t-shirt, black socks and black basketball shorts.

Please wear your Dinkles from last year if you still have them  (or your Dinkles from Middle School for incoming Freshman)

This will be the required clothing that will be worn under the uniforms at all times during the marching season.
*Please note, colorguard does have different requirements for this so if you have questions please check with the CG Team Captains or the CG Team Moms.

Below are links to all the forms that you need to have ready, filled out and signed and turned in during registration. They are:

1 – Copy of your registration confirmation email from Family ID
2 – 
Parent Permission, Emergency Medical & Waiver of Claims
3 – 
Marching Band/Jazz/Percussion 2017-2018 Performance Donation Form 
or Colorguard 2017-2018 Performance Donation Form
4 – EEU Band & Colorguard Registration Form

Please bring your checkbooks (all checks made out to the EEU) during your scheduled time slots as we will be collecting performance donations, taking orders for Dinkles and gloves, and specific to all incoming Freshman (band and colorguard) you can order your students only mandatory EEU Hoodie.

There will be other EEU logo wear for students, family and friends available for purchase.

We also ask that every EEU family donate 1 case (24 bottles) of water if you have not done so at registration.
We need this water to be able to keep the students hydrated all year long during the many events the EEU performs in. Most of it will get used during Marching Season as the students will be working hard during football games, parades and field show events!

EHS Registration and Band Camp

There seems to be some questions regarding EHS Registration and Band Camp,
considering EHS registration starts the same day as band camp.

Here is the very simple and only answer from Mr. Davis:

Everyone should report to EHS registration first, do not report to Band Camp first
and plan on being in line when registration opens which is at 8am..
That means get there early to ensure you are 1st in line on your respective days which are as follows:
August 14th (Monday ) – Seniors
August 15th (Tuesday) – Juniors
August 16th (Wednesday) – Sophomores
August 17th (Thursday) – Freshman

If you are not to camp by 9:30am, you are late.

The ONLY exception to this will be on Thursday for the Freshman and it is 
understood they will gone most of the morning for their registration process. 

Any questions to this can be address directly to Mr. Davis or EEU Booster 
President John Zarske.

Family Beach Day

Saturday, August 12th  2:00pm – 9:00 pm

Bolsa Chica State Beach

The student leaders headed by EEU Band President Brian Zarske are planning and scheduling an EEU Beach Day for all student members of the EEU on Saturday, August 12th, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Family members and parents are welcome and encouraged to attend this event. 

Come on out as your students get together to create some bonding time and build section unity as you enjoy some beach time with other parents and their families, during this once a year pre-band camp event. 

Where: Bolsa Chica State Beach
(near Warner and PCH)
The exact location and tower number will be sent to section leaders and posted on the “Esperanza Entertainment Unit” Facebook page once a fire ring is reserved.
When: Saturday – August 12th from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm
What to Bring: Any food and/or drink for your student, you and your family to enjoy, towels, change of clothes, jacket etc. 
What is requested: Section Leaders will reach out to their section members to request a bundle of wood from each member of the section,  for the fire-pit “bonfire” once it starts to get dark. (Safety being of the utmost priority)

Standard Vehicle Parking Rates:

Day Use $15.00

Hours of operation of the State Beach

 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, the gates close at 9:00pm

*Again, this is not an EEU Sponsored or Chaperone attended eventso if you plan on going or letting your student attend please remember their safety and well being will be your responsibility. No member of the EEU Booster Board or Mr. Davis can or will assume the responsibility of your student during this event. That being said, the student leaders will be coordinating this event with student safety and well-being as their main priority, however, the ultimate responsibility is yours.
