Update from David Selcon (2-1-2012):

The Carnegie Hall performance is at 6pm on Friday, April 6.

Due to the fact that the trip is now full, we are removing the online registration page completely. This is not to say that there is no longer a chance for students to add to the trip, but they will now be required to call us and will be handled on a case by case basis. Most likely we will be able to put them on a “waitlist” and hope that we are able to find availability.

Regarding the itinerary that you saw online (or any other itinerary you may have received) please keep in mind that, as stated on the itinerary, the order of events may AND ARE LIKELY to vary. Of course your group will experience everything listed, but maybe in a slightly different order. This is due to the fact that the “picture” of your group has continued to evolve since the registration due date passed nearly 7 months ago. As a result, without knowing from the beginning what the eventual size of your group would be, it is not uncommon for things to get switched around a bit to accommodate you. Its like a bowl of Jello –we are constantly making arrangements for your group, and then having to change those arrangements around a bit as your group grows, or as logistics and local conditions would necessitate.

I say this so you are aware that any current itineraries you may have are NOT set in stone. (Except for the Carnegie Hall Performance at 6pm on Friday April 6). They were the best representation of what we had planned for your group at the time, but as noted above, we change things around a bit to accommodate your group and adapt to local conditions/vendors.

You will receive your final “confirmed” itinerary about 3-4 weeks prior to the trip departure date.

Update from Mr. Davis (1-31-2012):

Here is the updated information on acquiring tickets to the Esperanza Symphonic Band performance at Carnegie Hall. Please note that the price of tickets is controlled by the Carnegie Hall box office, not the EEU or Educational Discovery Tours. If you are a parent, who will be joining us on this trip, your ticket is included in your tour. If you have made your own arrangements, then you will need to use the following information to get your tickets to this once in a lifetime concert.

Important! Click here for ticket information.

Update from Mr. Davis (1-30-3012):

We actually just received some updated information not long ago. The Carnegie performance will actually be on the 6th at 6pm, and the performance is free [see above for ticket cost] and open to the public. Hope that helps, and we’re hoping for a really great crowd, so the more the merrier.

Update from David Selcon, EDT Educational Program Director (1-5-2012):

Happy New Year and thanks for making contact.

Regarding parent’s question about a “cut-off” date to be added to the trip, please tell them to fax/email or register online IMMEDIATELY if they even want a chance to be added to the trip.

As we are now 6 months past our original registration due date, any person who registers now will be considered on a case by case, space available basis. Many of our group arrangements in NYC for tickets, hotels etc have already been purchased, so we will have to look into each case individually for you.

Do you have any idea of how many parents/students wish to add this late in the game? PLEASE TELL ME ASAP. We will do whatever we can to help.

Also, final payments for the trip are due February 4 (this would apply to those that are registered, and those that are trying to register late).

Please send this announcement out to everybody ASAP.
